Referring to the rain, I said to a fellow Mum at the school gates: “At least the plants needed it though.” And she said, “You know you’re old when you start saying the rain is a good thing because of the plants.” She’s absolutely right of course.

The dining room as greenhouse.

This is how I’m getting on growing a few plants from seed. I have Shasta Daisy, mixed poppy, poppy ‘Angel’s Choir’, verbena, delphiniums, sweet pea, candytuft ‘fairy mixed’, 2 varieties of sunflower, and cucumber and dwarf bean. For now.
