The things I have learned since moving to Somerset
The view on Christmas Day. One of the reasons we chose this house.
Today marks the one year anniversary of when, by the light of my mobile phone, we found the keys under a flowerpot for our new house. Wow! I cannot believe it’s been a year already; but on the other hand, I do feel like a visitor when I go back to Tonbridge; and I do feel I belong here now. I have no regrets about our relocation at all. Here’s a list of a few things I’ve discovered.

Living in Tonbridge
While researching areas to move to, we’ve found little reviews of towns found on the internet were vital – especially when we started looking in Wiltshire and Somerset – places we hardly knew at all. So, now that we are leaving it, here’s my thoughts on Tonbridge; having lived here for 30 years, I feel qualified enough to tell you!

Moving to Cornwall
After over three years of planning to move to Cornwall (from Kent), we have well and truly decided we are not buying a house there. It is simply too expensive – ridiculously so if you’re after an old place with beams and inglenooks like I am. (Not so bad if you’re after a new build). Our problem is we need somewhere big enough for two of us to work from home. Anyway, after so long researching and house-hunting, I can offer a bit of advice if you’re planning on relocating to Cornwall and aren’t sure of areas.
