Cam Girl

The advantage of having a broken foot is that it has given me the ideal opportunity to get some writing done. I am re-visiting a book a wrote a few years ago, that now needs updating and re-editing. I’ve got three weeks till my foot is hopefully healed, and I’m aiming to get it finished in that time. The title is Cam Girl. Here is the first paragraph:

I pick the book up from the passenger seat and lean it against the steering wheel. ‘Keep your tool clean and in serviceable condition. After use, always wipe off any grease.’ I flick through another couple of pages. ‘And listen to this one,’ I say, ‘Pull off the control knob and locate the mounting screw. Are you sure you bought the right kind of manual?’

A slow January
January 31, 2022
I just made it to the New Year, and then I got very ill indeed. It was nothing more serious than a fluey cold, but oh my god, I don’t remember the last time I felt that ill! I had hot flushes and chills (they were multiplying) and couldn’t breath lying down, so three nights of trying to sleep upright in the settee downstairs left me extra tired too. Anyway, the upshot is, even if I’d wanted to run into 2022 full steam ahead, I simply couldn’t. I was kind-of forced into a slow January…
