Escaped Princess Dress

I’ve just bought a massive box full of slightly damaged  Indian silk shawls, salwar  and kameez ready for me to cut up and upcycle into beautiful clothing, so this is an ongoing collection. So far I have nine items ready for sale at Oshun. Here are some of them.

Hi Helen,

I came across your website and I loved it! Have you created those dresses yourself? I’m a big fan of Indian clothes, they look so nice and colourful! I’ll keep reading your blog! (I apologize for the spelling mistakes, I’m still learning English).

Thank you! Yes I have created those clothes myself – I started out with an item of Indian clothing, and then altered them in some way or another – usually adding loads more material to make fairytale dresses. I can’t take credit for the beading and embroidery; that is all part of the original fabric.
(Don’t worry – your English is very good!)
