I still haven’t worked out what to do when I grow up! I’m mainly a writer, an artist, and a fairytale dressmaker with various crafty hobbies! Here (and on YouTube) I share bits of my life, thoughts, and what I’m learning along the way. Let’s find magic and inspiration; join me for this creative living adventure!

The rain and being old!

Referring to the rain, I said to a fellow Mum at the school gates: “At least the plants needed it though.” And she said, “You know you’re old when you start saying the rain is a good thing because of the plants.” She’s absolutely right of course.

Mind you, it is becoming more trendy for young’uns to have a veg patch or even an allotment. Alys Fowler from Gardeners’ World and The Edible Garden is my absolute soul-mate who I’ll probably never meet. I’m so glad she’s on the telly being passionate about what she does – and she’s even the same age as me!

Still; the plants really did need the recent rain – I think we had three weeks before that without a drop – typically right after I dug those ponds that still needed filling. When I walk round the garden I can almost hear the flowers sighing with relief. The willow in the lower garden sings at me when I go to feed the chickens.

Maybe I’m crazy as well as old.

Garden,
