The builders have left the building!

An update on the state of our kitchen

What with Glastonbury going on, I haven’t been uploading the latest pictures of our kitchen, but I’ve just about got time to carry on now. This is how it looked when the builders had finished downstairs and were busy constructing walls upstairs. All the walls and staircase are now completely gone!

Then they brilliantly went to Wells Reclamation and collected our new sink; brought it back, managed to get it inside and then installed it for us. How fantastic is that? I don’t know if you can tell from the

photo, but that sink is flipping heavy!! Chris and I couldn’t lift one corner! It is one great big hunk of slate! And I love it! We were going to go for the normal sink unit with a black granite butler sink; but then we saw this and had to have it. It proved quite a problem for the plumber though, as he had to order the plug as standard ones didn’t fit, and then he spent about an hour filing the hole as it wasn’t drilled entirely straight. We had to seal it with expensive sealer that wouldn’t change the colour. It’s all worth it though. And after 3 weeks of not having a kitchen sink at all; it’s fantastic to have a fully functional one, and such a cool looking one as well.
